CHOICE OF ANESTHETIC
Commonly used anesthetics for intraosseous anesthesia are:-
2% Lidocaine with epinephrine 1:100,000
Transient slight tachycardia - 30 minutes or longer pulpal anesthesia
3% Mepivacaine plain
No vasoconstrictor but may give only 15-20 minutes pulpal anesthesia.
2% Mepivacaine with epinephrine 1:100,000
Vasoconstrictor content may lead to some transient feeling of weakness in the
legs. 30-45 minutes pulpal anesthesia may be experienced.
